STEP ASIDE, EVERYONE. We have found the best Irish Halloween costume.

Please cast your eye over Waterford camogie player Clara Hogan’s elaborate creation…

Yes, that’s a sliotar in her eye.

Hogan explained to DailyEdge.ie that the look was inspired by an incident on the pitch a few years ago.

I play camogie for Gailltír and I suppose my inspiration was actually an incident that happened at training a few years ago when I wore glasses under my helmet and I was blocking the ball and it hit me in the helmet resulting in a cut nose and broken glasses.

Rather brilliantly, the look has served as a word of warning to the club’s younger players…

I train the under 10 girls in our club and I’m always telling them to keep their eye on the ball. They all enjoyed the look when I did it and showed them and a few even tried it out themselves.

As for who did the make-up? That would be Hogan herself.

I did the makeup myself. I am self-taught and just enjoyed doing different Halloween looks. It surprisingly didn’t take too long – about 20 minutes with some latex!

Unreal.
